The Fleur-de-Lis Garden Club of the Original Highlands has disbanded and is no longer in existence.  Thank you to all our members and supporters over the past 3 years.

If you are interested in joining another club, please consider joining one of the many Federated Garden Clubs in the Louisville area.  You can see a list of them on the Garden Club of Kentucky website.  There are also other non-affiliated clubs in the metro area, such as the Crescent Hill Garden Club.

Former Fleur-de-Lis Garden Club website members and visitors can still access this site if you are interested in continuing the conversations in the forum, posting For Sale items, and adding pictures to the Gallery.  The site account is paid up and will remain open through March, 2012.

Thank you,

Joan Rutherford Plamp

Past President and Webmaster

Hello to all website members and visitors!  We hope you are enjoying our website.  If you are not yet a registered member, please consider doing so.  Just click on "Register" on the left side of this page, and follow the instructions there.  Registered members can post in the Forum, submit photos to our Gallery, and post items in For Sale or Trade.

The July meeting of the Fleur-de-Lis Garden Club will be held this Thursday, July 8, at 7:00pm at Wick's Pizza.  We meet in the back room (the party room).  We are planning an interactive program on "Yard Art" which should be a lot of fun.  There will be some important votes taken at this meeting, so we hope you will attend.

It's a hot summer this year, and your garden plants are probably stressed right now.  Be sure to give everything a lot of water this time of the year.  We haven't had enough rainfall to sustain our plants without a little help.

The Fleur-de-Lis Garden Club will be participating in the Original Highlands Yard Sale on Saturday, June 5.  We will be having a plant sale, as well as regular yard sale stuff.  Our location will be 1425 Highland Ave.  The hours for the sale are 7AM to 1PM.  Many other homes in the Original Highlands will be having yard sales that day, so we hope to get a lot of people stopping by.  Come and get some new plants for your garden!

Our next regular meeting is Thursday, June 10 at 7:00pm at Wick's Pizza on Baxter.  We will have a program about composting.  Hope to see you there!

Plans are underway for our annual Garden Tour, which will be held in September this year.  More information will be posted here on this website.

If you are not a registered member of this site, we hope you will consider doing so.  It only takes a minute to register, and it will enable you to participate in our Forum, add pictures to our Gallery, and post your own For Sale or Trade items.

We also welcome new members to the Club.  We have no dues, and any resident of the Metro Louisville area is welcome to join.  See this page for details about becoming a Club member.

This new website already has 11 registered users, mostly the active members of the Garden Club.  We hope that more people will register for the site.  Just click on the word "Register" on the left side of this page.  After you do so, you will be able to participate in all that this site has to offer.

The Garden Club is getting ready to have a mini plant sale during the open sale at the Back Door on Thursday, May 6.  This will be a preview of the larger sale we will be having later in May.  There will be other vendors at this sale at the Back Door, selling many different hand-made items.  Be sure to drop by!

The next regular Garden Club meeting is Thursday, May 13, at Wick's.  We will have a program about entering plants and flowers in the State Fair.  So if you are interested in trying for a blue ribbon at this year's Fair, you won't want to miss this meeting.
